Interesting Global Statistics.....

I learned some cultural things today from an article about married men in other countries. Here are some of the highlights...

  • South African men cheat rather than taking additional wives. (rather than taking additional wives?)

  • In Japan, extra marital sex isn't considered adultery if you pay for it.

  • In France, only 3.8% of men and 2% of women admitted to having affairs. They usually don't feel as guilty as their American counterparts about it, though.

  • America's married couples only show 3.9% of men and 3.1% of women as being cheaters, but we feel guilty about it and tend to beat ourselves up.

  • A recent poll of Russians show that 40% believe it acceptable to cheat in some or all circumstances.

  • The poorer the country, the more likely it is for a man to cheat. Same theory applies to places with political problems and war.

Interested? Check the top link for the article, it tells that while Americans feel this urge to confess, the French are in more of a "what you don't know can't hurt you" mentality.

Hmmmmmmmm.........
